STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police made a second arrest, charging a man Tuesday with a hate crime and assault, in the Thursday stabbing of a man during which the suspect hollered homosexual insults, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Evander Cruz, 18, reportedly turned himself into police on a warrant police obtained four days earlier, said the report.
He was charged with first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and intimidation by bigotry, according to the Stamford Advocate.
The other teenager, 17, was charged within hours of the incident Thursday in which a man, 20, was stabbed on Lockwood Avenue, suffering "knife wounds to his kidney and lung," the Stamford Advocate said.
