STAMFORD, Conn. — Police have arrested one of the two suspects they said are believed to be involved in a robbery and assault earlier this month in Stamford.
The victim told police he was at an apartment on Fourth Street when two men came in and requested he pay them, Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said. He gave them money and thought they were even when John Mock took out a metal pipe and began hitting him and the other suspect punching him, Shawinsky said.
The victim came to police headquarters to report the incident and was bleeding, but did not suffer life threatening injuries, the sergeant said.
After receiving a warrant police arrested Mock, 52, when he was appearing for court on Thursday, and the other suspect remains at large, Shawinsky said. The original incident took place on Aug. 2, police said.
Mock was charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, and second-degree assault, police said. He was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 5.
