Kadeem Mitchell, of St. Benedicts Circle, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Saturday on a warrant after he was released from medical treatment, police said.

The crash involved one car at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 22 on Washington Boulevard/Route 137 near Second Street, by Scalzi Park, police said.
In the crash, a 2006 BMW 525i was traveling north on Washington Boulevard at a high rate of speed, police said. The driver of the BMW, identified as Mitchell, lost control and struck a tree off the east side of the roadway, police said.
Mitchell and his passenger Donte Smith, 19, of Renwick Street, Stamford, had to be extricated from the wrecked car by Stamford Fire-Rescue using hydraulic tools, police said.
Both were transported to Stamford Hospital by Stamford Emergency Medical Service ambulances.
Smith died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash, police said. Mitchell suffered critical injuries, police said.
Mitchell was processed and released after posting $5,000 bond and surrendering his passport, police said. He is scheduled for arraignment at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 29.
The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad led the investigation.
The investigation was conducted by Officers Jeffrey Booth and Thomas Drain.
