Stamford Kidnapping Victim Found Safe

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford kidnapping victim was found safely Sunday morning, Lt. Diedrich Hohn said.

The victim was seen by several neighbors being forced into a black sports utility vehicle wearing only a bra and panties, Hohn said. Police found the woman’s apartment in disarray and it looked like a violent struggle had ensued, he said.

The woman’s grandmother called police to say she was safe later in the day, Hohn said. The victim was uncooperative with police but did have scratches and cuts and did mention having a protective order on a “on-again, off-again boyfriend,” who was at her residence earlier in the night, Hohn said.

The suspect does drive a dark green sports utility vehicle matching the description of the car the neighbors gave, Hohn said.

The special victims unit is following up with the victim, he said.
