In July, a homeowner told police he believed his residence had been broken into on several occasions while he was away, police report.
The homeowner had evidence the youths had been occupying his home, using his pool, drinking alcohol and eating food from the residence; the homeowner said approximately $6,600 worth of property, including laptops, cameras, sports memorabilia and clothing had all been taken, police report.
The homeowner supplied video from one of the burglaries, which allegedly shows a black male and a white male on camera stealing items from the residence, according to police.
The video was distributed to media sources, leading to two possible suspects, police report.
Around the same time, several witnesses observed a black male and a white male throwing items into a dumpster, and police recovered the items, officials report. The two suspects matched the suspects from the video, according to police.
After further investigation, police were able to positively identify the two seen on camera and implicate four more involved in the burglary, police report.
On Wednesday, police arrested six youths between the ages of 16-17, officials report. All are Stamford residents and attend Westhill High School, according to police.
The youths were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy, police report.
All were processed and released to their parents, according to officials.
