Jamie Edwards-Hinton, 21, of 110 Towne St., is charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree strangulation.

The incident began after an argument broke out between Edwards-Hinton and a 19-year-old woman, police said.

After placing Edwards-Hinton's bag outside, she was attacked by the 21-year-old woman and knocked to the ground, police said. The victim eventually broke free but couldn't return to the residence because Edwards-Hinton had gone in first and locked the door, police said. The 19-year-old woman went over to a neighbor's to call police.

The neighbor returned with the 19-year-old to her home, where the woman was once again attacked by Edwards-Hinton, police said. She grabbed the 19-year-old woman by the neck and pushed her against the wall in front of the neighbor, police said.

The 19-year-old woman suffered a small cut on her wrist and neck, police said.
