Police: Florida Woman Becomes Combative During Arrest In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Florida woman became "combative and belligerent" with officers after she allegedly struck another vehicle early Sunday in Stamford, police said.

Stamford Police said they arrested a Florida woman on drug charges early Sunday after she hit another vehicle and drove away.

Jaqueline Marvin, 25, of 599 Southwest 15th St., Boca Raton, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics, failure to keep narcotics in original container, evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and operating under suspension.

A truck driver waved down a Metropolitan Transportation Authority police officer at about 2 a.m. and said he had been struck by a car on Washington Boulevard, police said. The MTA officer stopped the vehicle and called Stamford Police.

The police report said the woman “immediately became combative and belligerent, stating she was not intoxicated,” said Sgt. Robert Shawinsky.

The woman appeared to be impaired, incoherent and had difficulty maintaining her balance, according to the police report.

Officers found nine small packages of a white powdery substance that appeared to be cocaine inside the woman’s car, according to the police report.
