Jonathan Ariza, 24, of Maple Avenue, was arrested in a Center Street home and charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, interfering with police, a felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm, the Advocate said. He was held on $500,000 bond.
A young woman and her boyfriend were shot last Oct. 16 at Hudson Street and Capitol Avenue in Bridgeport, police told the Advocate.
She was treated and released, but he was in the hospital for over a week with a serious wound in his leg, the Advocate said.
Ariza was connected to the double shooting after his DNA was found on a discarded .40-caliber handgun found at the crime scene, the Advocate said.
