A Stamford man has been arrested for being a serial abuser of his girlfriend, according to the Stamford Police Department.
Stamford Police Sgt. Joseph Kennedy said Jeisson Garcia, 22, was arrested for repeatedly beating his girlfriend going as far back as December or January from the evidence collected during a month-long investigation.
Garcia was charged with strangulation, unlawful restraint, the risk of injury to a child, several assault charges, and criminal mischief, police said.
On at least one occasion, the beating caused severe bruising and contusions, Kennedy said.
"There seems to a pattern of abuse happening with Mr. Garcia and his girlfriend," he said.
The investigation is ongoing. Because of privacy issues for the victim, he declined to comment further.
