Jury Selection Begins For Stamford Man Accused In Execution-Style Murder

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Jury selection began Tuesday for a Stamford man accused of being an accessory in the execution-style murder of a Norwalk Shell station clerk in 2009, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Mustapha “Dip” Jacobs, who police say helped convicted killer Alain LeConte, during the Norwalk robbery and with the attempted murder of a Shell station clerk in Greenwich, appeared in good spirits as his attorney, Frank O'Reilly, announced he may present an alibi defense and try and have Jacobs' statements suppressed, said the Stamford Advocate.

Jacobs, who currently is serving a 10-year sentence on a felony narcotics charge, has been held since his 2010 arrest on a $1 million bond at the Northern Correctional Institution in Somers, said the Stamford Advocate. The 29-year-old, who has a long criminal record, has been charged with felony murder, two counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, said the Stamford Advocate. Evidence presentation is scheduled for March 15, added the Stamford Advocate.
