Elmer Gomez Ruano, 32, was apprehended in Brooklyn on Friday and was held on child endangerment charges, with Stamford police on their way to pick him up, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The search for Ruano began Monday after his wife, 24-year-old Dionicia Bautista-Cano, was found dead in the couple's Courtland Avenue apartment. Police found Bautista-Cano after the couple's young daughter was found wandering in the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal on Monday morning.

Police said Ruano had been seen on video in the Port Authority Terminal that morning and was believed to have abandoned the young girl. The girl was placed in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families after leading police to the Stamford apartment where her mother was found dead.
