STAMFORD, Conn. -- The gray fox that attacked a Stamford woman and chased other people on Country Club Road last week has tested positive for rabies, according to a report by News 12 Connecticut.
Michelle Wisniewski was out strolling with her toddler when the animal approached them in an aggressive manner, according to The Stamford Advocate.
Wisniewski, who had to kick the fox when it wouldn’t go away, was bitten or scratched on the ankle but managed to save her child from injury by dodging inside a FedEx truck that was parked nearby, The Stamford Advocate reported.
Police reported getting a call from residents of the area who had also been chased by the ailing animal, The Stamford Advocate said.
News 12 Connecticut reported that the fox was shot by police and that Wisniewski is undergoing treatment for rabies.
