Ex-Stamford Police Officer Charged With Larceny After Trip To Hawaii

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A former Stamford police officer was arrested for allegedly taking a vacation in Hawaii with his girlfriend while being paid by the department during a purported deployment with the Army Reserves, the Stamford Advocate says.

According to the article, Donald Chen, 30, resigned recently before the department could fire him. He was charged with first-degree larceny and defrauding a public community; he has been released with no bond, according to the article.

Chen was reportedly paid more than $2,000 for which the department is seeking restitution, says the article.
