Driver Fleeing Stamford Crash Causes More Crashes, Injuring Three

STAMFORD, Conn. — A driver trying to flee the scene of an accident in Stamford Thursday night ended up causing more cars to crash and ultimately sent three people to the hospital, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The five-car crash occurred on Courtland Avenue at around 8 p.m. Thursday, the Stamford Advocate reported. A driver heading north hit a car heading in the same direction, causing it to hit a third car, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police said the first driver then tried to flee, which caused a fourth car to swerve and a fifth to roll over, according to the Stamford Advocate. Three people were injured in the incident, and while the initial driver has not yet been charged, police told the Stamford Advocate that they are investigating.
