Richard Salinas-Gonzalez, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after members of the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad received the information he was on his way to make a drug deal, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers with the unit spotted him as a passenger in a car that pulled into a variety shop near Atlantic and Bell streets, Conklin said.
The officers followed him into the store and during a search found a bag of cocaine containing 4.2 grams of cocaine in his front pants pocket, Conklin added.
Salinas Gonzalez was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. He is being held on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 29.
