William Bragdon, 63, Former Stamford Mechanic

STAMFORD, Conn. – William Mercer Bragdon of Stratford, formerly of Stamford, died July 22 at Bridgeport Hospital with his wife, Colleen, by his side. He was 63. 

Born Feb. 6, 1949 in Stamford, he was a son of Everett and Pamela Ferrar Bragdon. He worked as an auto mechanic at Buzz's Mobil for many years until his illness. Bragdon had a great love for all types of cars. He also enjoyed fly fishing. 

He is survived by his wife Colleen Evans Bragdon, a brother Douglas Bragdon of Texas and several nieces and nephews. Bragdon is also survived by his former wife Joan Bragdon. He was predeceased by a son William David Bragdon. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. David Spollett officiating. A reception will follow services at the family's home. Dennis and D'Arcy Funeral Home in Stratford is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Relay For Life, c/o the "Saving Second Base" team.
