Tommaso Pistone, 71, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Tommaso Pistone of Stamford died Nov. 10 at his home. He was 71.

He was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Joppolo Giancaxio, Sicily, to Carmelo and Maria Abissi-Pistone. He enjoyed making wine and spaghetti and spending time with his wife and family. Pistone also enjoyed baseball, golf and swimming. He had a love for Ponza, Italy, where he had a home and was going to move with his wife.

Pistone is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pompea Romano Pistone; two sons, Roberto Carmelo (Angela) Pistone, of Branford, Conn., and Michele Thomas (Fiorella) Pistone, of East Haven, Conn.; a daughter, Patrizia Maria Pistone (Antonino) Perrera, of Stamford; two brothers, Giovanni Pistone, of Queens, N.Y., and Angelo Pistone, of Sicily; a sister, Carmela Pistone La Manna, of Queens; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Giuseppe and Salvatore Pistone.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret’s Church in Middle Village, N.Y. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Queens. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory in Stamford handled arrangements.
