Steven Zarmsky, 59, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Steven F. Zarmsky, of Stamford, died Dec. 25 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after a long battle with chronic illness.

Born in Stamford, Zarmsky moved to Farmington in the early 1980s and worked for more than 25 years at Farmington Bank, first as an auditor and then in the accounting department. Known by his many friends as "the Z-man," he was an avid fan of the New York Jets and Mets. He enjoyed golfing at the Country Club of Farmington, fishing the Farmington River and spending time with his family. 

He and his former wife, Roxanne, have three beautiful children: Sarah Zarmsky, 19 who is a sophomore at Brandeis University, Brett Zarmsky, 14, and Sofia Zarmsky, 14, who both attend Farmington High School.

Zarmsky is also survived by four siblings, William Zarmsky of White Plains, Christine Zarmsky of Norwalk, Frank Zarmsky of Middletown, and Jennifer Pinto of Monroe. 

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St./Route 4, Unionville. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Farmington.
