Stamford Project Manager Anthony Packes Dies, Leaves Wife & Newborn Son

STAMFORD, Conn. — Services have been set for Anthony J. Packes of Stamford, who died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, Dec. 30. He was 36.

He was born Oct. 31, 1981, to John and Patricia (Batiste) Packes in Mount Vernon, N.Y., and formerly lived in Hawthorne, N.Y. 

Packes loved music, sports and above all, his wife, Toni (Maldonado) Packes. He was a project manager for Life in Mobile in Stamford. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his newborn son, Paul Anthony Packes; his brother, John Jr. (Kristen Van Varick) Packes of Norwalk; and his sisters-in-law, Michelle Arellano, Noelle McManus and Cris DeCiccio. 

Packes was predeceased by his mother- and father-in-law, Donna and Raul Maldonado; his maternal grandparents, William and Mary Batiste; and his paternal grandparents, Clement and Mildred Packes. 

Visitation will be at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. 

In lieu of flowers, an educational fund is being arranged for the benefit of his son, Paul Anthony Packes. Details to follow on the Hawthorne Funeral Home website.
