Silvio Coppola, 91, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Silvio J. (Skeets) Coppola, 91, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, in Greensboro, N.C.

He was born March 2, 1924, in Stamford, the son of Raffaele Coppola and Michelina Uva, also longtime residents of Stamford.

Angelina Grace Pennella, of Greenwich, was his wife of 31 years. She died in 1984. 

He was the youngest of six siblings, Theadore Coppola, Alice Coppola, Blanche DeVarti, Irene Hamblin and Belinda Coppola.

He had three children, Dyann, wife of Anthony J. Langella of Highland Beach, Fla., Doreen, wife of the late Zane I. Thompson of Greensboro, N.C. and Leonard J. DeAngelis (Coppola), husband of Virginia DeAngelis of Ridgecrest, Calif. 

His grandchildren are Tayla Grace, Zane Joseph, Janell, Michael, husband of Yvonne and Tony, husband of Laura. His great-grandchildren are Krista, Vincent, Alexia, Justin, Reese and Chance. 

He worked as a glazer all his adult life. He was the owner of West Side Glass in Stamford and The Coppola Glass Shop in Greenwich.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Stamford.

The family is having a Celebration of Life in Stamford  next summer.
