Phyllis LaCrette, 79, of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Phyllis C. LaCrette, 79, of Stamford, died Saturday, Dec. 12.

She was born in Trinidad, West Indies, on July 3, 1936, to the late James and Iola Worrell LaCrette. 

She immigrated to the United States in 1968 and began a career in the field of banking. 

She also started her family in Stamford. Her family comprises her daughters, Hannah Bailey of Greenwich, Lesley Ann Bailey and her husband Kenneth of Washington, D.C., Roxanne S. Bailey of Norwalk and their father, Oscar Bailey. 

Her four grandchildren are Lucas, Logan, Ellis and Olivia. Her brother Kenneth LaCrette and his wife Merle of Trinidad, West Indies, also survived her as well as nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her two sisters Joyce and Myra Manning. 

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Sunday, Dec. 20, from 2-4 p.m.

A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 21, from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place, Stamford.
