STAMFORD, Conn. Maria F. Pisano of Stamford died July 25. She was 95.
She was born May 6, 1917, in Ashland, W.V., to Felice and Caterina Bova Deluca. Pisano's family described her as a loving Italian mother who dedicated her life to her family. She specialized in Italian cooking and was an avid gardener. Her husband of more than 71 years, Ernesto Pisano, predeceased her in 2008.
Pisano is survived by six children, Domenick (Marie) Pisano, of Cos Cob, Benny (Rose) Pisano, of Cos Cob, Ronald Pisano, of Norwalk, Anthony (Valerie) Pisano, of Greenwich, Claude Pisano of Stamford and Connie Pisano (Steve) Koss, of Stamford; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pisano was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Lorenti; a sister, Lucia and a brother, Pasquale.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Church in Stamford. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory in Stamford handled arrangements.
