Magdalen Koropsak O’Brien, 84, Longtime Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Magdalen Koropsak O'Brien, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Sept. 10. She was 84.

O’Brien was born May 25, 1929, in Bayonne, N.J., daughter of Agnes (Fedorka) and Andrew Koropsak. She grew up in Greenwich and graduated from Greenwich High School and the Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She worked at Greenwich Hospital as an operating room nurse and with American Cyanamid.

O’Brien is survived by her sister, Doris Ulasky; and aunt, Anna Koropsak; son, Thomas O'Brien (Kerrin) of Puyallup, Wa.; daughter, Holly Mickelson (Michael) of Stamford; and two granddaughters. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Thomas J. O'Brien.

Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
