Murphy was born March 28, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Philip and Margaret Carey Murphy. She spent most of her life in Greenwich, where she worked for the Greenwich Federal Savings Bank for many years.
Murphy is survived by her nieces, nephews; extended family; and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Murphy, Peggy McGlynn, Esther Burns, Patricia Smith, Danny, Dennis and Philip Murphy and Josephine Savona.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Interment will be held privately at St. Mary’s RC Cemetery, Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Murphy’s memory to the Alzheimer ‘s Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
