Jennie Gambino, 95, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jennie E. Gambino of Stamford died Sept. 16, surrounded by her family. She was 95. 

The family matriarch, Gambino enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and working at her family-run store, The Capital Market. She was an avid New York Yankees fan. 

Gambino is survived by a son, Lenny Gambino, of Stamford; two daughters, Grace (Peppi) Caminiti, of Florida and Gloria (Bruce) Rosa, of Stamford; a daughter-in-law, Renee Gambino, of Seymour, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Sebastiano and Salvatresa Buccheri; her husband, Salvatore P. Gambino; two sisters DiDia and Connie; a brother, Dr. Paul Buccheri; a son-in-law, Frank Caputo Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Judith Gambino; a granddaughter, Toni Caminiti; and a grandson, Kurt Pohl. 

Calling hours are from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lacerenza Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Church in Stamford. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
