J. Louis Rodriguez, 92, Of Stamford, Owned North Stamford Surveyors

STAMFORD, Conn. - J. Louis Rodriguez of Stamford died Monday, April 29. He was 92.

Rodriguez was born Sept. 8, 1920,  in New York City. He attended George Washington High School and graduated from City College in New York with a BS in engineering.

Rodriguez served in World War II as a navigator on B17's in the U.S. Army Air Force, operating out of England. After his retirement from the Air Force, he remained a participant in reunions of the 306th Bomb Group and a member of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and the Air Force Escape & Evasion Society.

Rodriguez was a civil engineer for Diamond International Corporation for 28 years, retiring in 1986 as manager of engineering at their corporate headquarters in New York City. Upon retiring from Diamond International, he continued service with them as a consultant until Feb. 1988. He was self-employed as a licensed surveyor and sole owner of North Stamford Surveyors.

Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Rita Fradera Rodriguez of Stamford; sister, Inez Lull, of Springfield, Mass.; daughters, Carmen Brana of Casselberry, Fla., and Christina McCarthy of Peterborough, Ontario; son, Robert Rodriguez of Cornish, Maine; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Carmen Font, of Kissimmee, Fla.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Leo Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m. at funeral home. There will be a burial service for family members at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport following the funeral.
