Hyacinthe Hoffman, 98, Formerly Of Stamford, Supported Children's Causes

STAMFORD, Conn. - Hyacinthe K. Hoffman of Stamford died April 10. She was 98.

Hoffman was a 1937 graduate of Vassar College. She moved to Stamford with her husband to establish the Stamford branch of Hoffman Fuel Company.

Hoffman developed resources in Fairfield County for families and children. She served on the board of Family and Children's Services of Stamford, Darien and New Canaan as well as on the Community Advisory Board of UConn (Stamford) Center for Judaic and Middle Eastern Studies.

Hoffman supported Temple Beth El, United Way, Stamford Jewish Federation, Young Audiences, Stamford JCC and Great Books, among other organizations.

Hoffman is survived by her children, Cynthia Livingston and Stephen, Jonathan and Peter Hoffman and their spouses; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Hoffman.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 12, 12:30 p.m. at Temple Beth El on Roxbury Road, Stamford.
