Hugh Troshynski, 74, Of Stamford, Worked At Sterling Farms Golf Course

STAMFORD, Conn. - Hugh Troshynski of Stamford died Monday, May 13. He was 74.

Troshynski was born May 22, 1938, in Atkinson, Nebraska, son of Dan and Margaret Troshynski. He was a graduate of Wayne State Teachers College and earned his Masters and Doctorate of Education degrees at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He taught throughout Nebraska for 35 years and developed a student’s program with the University Law School , a law related studies program that was used by teachers throughout the state. He also taught for several years at Ardsley High School in Ardsley, N.Y. He took a retirement job at Sterling Farms Golf Course.

Troshynski is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Ted (Diane) Troshynski of Lincoln, Neb., Marty (Dennis) Paglialunga of Fairfield, and Jean Bianco of Milford; eight grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Powell of Alliance, Neb.; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Eugene.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17 at the Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic St., in Stamford. Interment will be private.
