Grace Alessi, 86, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Grace Calabrese Alessi of Stamford died at Stamford Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 3 at the age of 86. 

Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, on Oct. 15, 1928, Grace immigrated with her family to Greenwich at the age of 2. 

She is a graduate of Greenwich High School and longtime administrative assistant to the CEOs of both Outward Bound Inc. and Cognitronics. 

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dominick Alessi; her son Richard and daughter-in-law Carol; son Thomas; three grandchildren, Dana (Joe), Sara, and Matthew;  her brothers, Frank, Joseph (Johanne), and Mario (Karen); and many nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Serafina Calabrese, and her brother Patrick. 

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home , 2900 Summer Street in Stamford. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Gabriel's Church at 914 Newfield Avenue in Stamford at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
