Gilman Parsons, 84, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. – Gilman C. Parsons, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Sept. 10. He was 84. 

He was born July 17, 1928, in Stamford to Mark and Diadem Joyce Parsons. He worked for the Foxboro Company, Barnes Engineering, Perkin Elmer and Schick. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and walks at Cove Island. 

Parsons is survived by his wife of more than 61 years, Elsie "Bunnie" (Hornyak) Parsons; three daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Krampert, Nancy Web and Lisa Parsons-Smith; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by four sisters and a brother. 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory in Stamford. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m., with the Rev. David Van Dyke officiating. Interment will be private.
