Frederick Stephenson, 78, Of Stamford, Worked At Polycast

STAMFORD, Conn. - Frederick Augustus Stephenson died April 3. He was 78.

Stephenson was born July 12, 1934, in the parish of St. Andrew, Kingston, Jamaica, to Estella Taffe and Frank Stephenson. He attended Whitfield Primary and Ebenezer High School in Jamaica. In 1970, he immigrated to the United States, where he lived in Stamford for more than 20 years.

While in Stamford, he worked at the Roger Smith’s Hotel and Corps Bakery. Subsequently, he was employed at US Prolong then continued at Polycast Technology, where he retired after 17 years of service.

Stephenson is survived by his children, Beverly Morgan of England, Joan Carmichael (Winston) of Savannah, Ga., Michael Stephenson of Bridgeport, Patrick Stephenson (Sharon) of Stamford, Avery Stephenson, Christopher Stephenson, Sheryl Stephenson all of Bridgeport, Georgia Mack (Leroy), and Mark Stephenson (Lamica) both of Stratford; 32 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Icilda Carey of Jamaica, West Indies; brothers, Cecil Stephenson of Jamaica, West Indies and Noel Stephenson of England; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 17 West Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.
