Frank Grimaldi, 87, Formerly Of Stamford

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Frank Grimaldi passed away suddenly, but peacefully, of natural causes on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 87 years old. 

He was the husband of Jeanne Vitale Grimaldi. Born on April 2, 1927, Frank was a lifelong resident of Stamford, Conn.. until he retired to Boynton Beach in 1989. He attended Stamford public schools and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and served as a medical technician. Following his service, he graduated with a degree in tool and die technologies from Wright Tech and then began a long, successful career at Machlett Laboratories/Raytheon. 

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jeanne, of Boynton Beach, Fla; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John Hofferman of Milford, Conn.; and his son, Lawrence (Larry) of Los Angeles. He is also survived by two brothers, Larry of Palm Springs and Nick of Virginia Beach, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Rose Grimaldi; three brothers, Anthony, Dominick and George; and his sister, Philomena. 

Everyone who knew Frank loved him, and he will be truly missed. Friends and family paid their respects at the Palm Beach National Chapel in Lake Worth, Fla., on Monday, Jan. 5, from 10-noon. A service of Christian burial was celebrated immediately after. Interment followed in South Florida National Cemetery, South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
