STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford resident Ernest Louis Vellozzi died on Dec. 12. He was 82.
Born in Mount Vernon in 1933, Vellozzi was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
After many years with Xerox Corporation, Ernie was self-employed until his retirement in the early 1990's. After retirement, he and Mary travelled with dear friends around the U.S. and world.
Vellozzi is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; children Lisa (Ivan) Saxonmeyer of Newtown, Gina (Richard) Smeriglio of Wallingford, Chris (Debby) Vellozzi of Stamford; and grandchildren Matthew Saxonmeyer, Mandee Dobrosky, Jacob and Lucas Vellozzi.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a service in the funeral home at 7 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, located at 2900 Summer St. in Stamford.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
