Dominick R. Vivona, 83, Lifelong Stamford Resident,

STAMFORD, Conn. - Dominick R. Vivona, Sr., a lifelong Stamford resident died April 5. He was 83.

Vivona was born Aug. 21, 1929, son of Nicholas Vivona and Rose (Ganino) Vivona. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Vivona was the owner and operator of Dominick R. Vivona Electrical Company prior to working for the Stamford Board of Education as an electrician for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Augustine Council #41 4th Degree, and the Stillwater Indian Social Club.

Vivona is survived by  his wife, Maria (Lembo); his children, Carolann Apuzzo (Joe), Donna Marie Sprio (Louis), Dominick R. Vivona, Jr. (Gloria), Matthew Vivona (Louise); his brother, Joseph Vivona (companion Marie); and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Monday, April 8 from 4 to 8 p.m at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.
