Diane Karbonic, 59, Lifelong Stamford Resident, Worked At Bloomingdales

STAMFORD, Conn. - Diane Karbonic of Stamford died Tuesday, May 14. She was 59.

Karbonic was born in Stamford Nov. 16, 1953, to Eileen (Kapusta) and John Damiani. A lifelong resident of Stamford, she attended Stamford schools and graduated from J.M. Wright Technical High School. She worked for many years at Bloomingdales Department Store in Stamford, leaving to care for her family and raise her children. She returned to work for the Stamford public school system as an aide for autistic children at Roxbury, Davenport and Cloonan schools.

Karbonic is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Karbonic; children, Kimberly Karbonic and Jeffrey Karbonic, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Simoneau (Gene), and Andrea Kocak (Tab); and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours are Friday, May 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, in Stamford. The committal service and interment will immediately follow Mass at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.
