Catherine Bankowski, 90, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Catherine (Soltys) Bankowski, a lifetime resident of Stamford died on Friday Dec. 11. She was 90.  

Bankowski was born in Stamford on May 4, 1925 to the late John and Eudocea Soltys. Catherine grew up in Stamford and went on to raise her family there. She worked for Pitney Bowes as a line inspector and retired after many years of dedicated service to the company. 

Bankowski was a member of the Pitney Bowes Oval Club, the National Council of Senior Citizens and she enjoyed the time she spent volunteering at Quintard Manor. In her spare time she enjoyed playing BINGO and liked to bake and cook for the people she loved.

Catherine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Bankowski III and his wife Diana, four grandchildren; Tracey Kenez, Laurie Vallerie (Kevin) and David and Jason Bankowski, and six great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Bankowski, Jr. and Sandra Bankowski and her sisters; Mary Negysi and Rose Taylor. 

Interment will take place at Fairfield Memorial Park on Tuesday morning.
