STAMFORD, Conn. – Bridget Mary Butler of Stamford died Oct. 28 at home, surrounded by her family. She was 90.
Butler was born May 20, 1922, in Ireland to Tom and Mary Baxter. In 1956, She immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 and met her husband John F. Butler of Tipperary, Ireland.
They were active members of Star of the Sea Church and the Hibernians. They had four children, Mary, Jerry, John (Sean) and Tom.
She is survived by a sister, Vera Callahan, of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Baxter, of Leitrim, Ireland; four children, Mary (Fred) Harris, of Trumbull, Conn., John “Sean” (Deborah) Butler, of Norwalk, and Tom (Amy) Butler of Barrington, Ill.; nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Stamford. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory in Stamford handled arrangements.
