STAMFORD, Conn. - Antonina Sgroi of Stamford died Tuesday, April 2. She was 94.
Sgroi was born June 17, 1918, in Castiglione, Sicily, Italy, daughter of Francesco Fallone and Carmela (Alibrandi) Fallone.
Sgroi is survived by her daughters, Rosa Buccino (Eugene), Carmela Sgroi, Eleonora Siragusa; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Giuseppe; five sisters; and four brothers.
Calling hours are Friday, April 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 6 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, Conn.
