Anthony "Tony" Cipri, 90, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Anthony "Tony" Cipri, 90, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, April 7.

He was born March 30, 1925, in Stamford, to the late Anthony and Josephine Cesario Cipri. He was a member of the #171 Teamsters Union and was employed as a truck driver for Petro Oil for many years before his retirement. He was an avid gardener and a true family man.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose DiSette Cipri, of Stamford; his sons Anthony Cipri and his wife, Gina, of Brookfield; and Richard Cipri and his wife, Lisa, of Wilton; and four grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at noon Friday for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
