The Ballet School of Stamford is more than pliés and relevés. Its also slides, kicks, bounces and hops. This weekend the school will showcase its contemporary side with the first of several workshops. Sessions will be held twice a month. Modern dance is the focus this Saturday, Dec. 4. The emphasis will be on hip hop Dec. 18. The January workshops will concentrate on jazz on Jan. 8 and contemporary dance Jan. 22. All sessions will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The workshops are geared for students in grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and high school. The cost is $50 for the first five workshops.
