Woman Charged With Taking Undergarments

On Friday evening, Anna Grabowska, 23, of Oakdale Street, allegedly helped herself to a few items at Marshalls department store at 2235 Summer St. She put women's undergarments, lingerie, a pair of men's underwear, and women's and men's fragrances, worth a total of $83.41, into her handbag, police said.

But she neglected to pay for them, police said.

Grabowska was on her way to the ladies' room when a security guard stopped her and called authorities. All of the merchandise was recovered from her handbag, police said. Grabowska was charged with one count of sixth-degree larceny, or shoplifting. Bond was set at $1,000. She was given an Aug. 27 court date.
