STAMFORD, Conn. The annual police memorial parade, a Natalie Cole concert, and several charity walks are just a few of the events on hand this weekend in Stamford. Visit the Daily Stamfords events section to see what else is happening in and around the city.
Friday, May 4
Stamford Police Memorial Parade: 6 p.m. Police officers from four different states, including 30 mounted units, more than 100 police motorcycles and a flyover will be a part of the sixth annual memorial parade in downtown Stamford. The parade will kick off at Veterans Park, and travel up Atlantic Street to police headquarters on Bedford Street. After the parade, the officers will be headed to Columbus Park for a fundraiser for the Killed in the Line of Duty Endowment Fund.
The Stamford Art Association's 13th Annual Vivian and Stanley Reed Marine Show: 6 p.m. The annual art exhibit will have its opening reception Friday night. If you cant make the reception, the exhibit will be on display at the Stamford Art Association Townhouse Gallery, 39 Franklin St., until June 7. The event is free to attend, the artists will be there and cash prizes will be given to the winners.
Stamford Museum & Nature Center Astronomy Night: 7:30 p.m. Take the kids to the observatory at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center to learn all about Venus, Earths neighboring planet. The program is suggested for children 5 and older. It is free to members, $3 for adults and $2 for kids.

9th Annual Model Ts to Mustangs in Stamford: 11 a.m. Engines will be roaring at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road with the annual car show, which will feature Studebakers this year. The ticket prices are free for members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for students (18+), $5 for children (417) and free for children 3 and under. Free Comic Book Day: 11 a.m. The annual event is hitting Stamford this year at A Timeless Journey, 2538 Summer St., where comic book fans will be able to come in and get comics for free.
STARescue - Pet Rescue Adoption Day in Stamford: Noon to 3 p.m. Stamford Animal Rescue and other pet organizations will be showcasing their most adoptable pets, and distributing food through its new food pantry. The event will take place at the High Ridge Shopping Cente, and will take place monthly through August.
Natalie Cole Stars in Stamford Benefit: 6 p.m. The nine-time Grammy Award winner will be performing her biggest hits at the Palace Theater, 61 Atlantic St. The event will go to helping Dana's Angels Research Trust and Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford will host a gala prior to Coles concert. March of Dimes in Stamford: 9 a.m. The nations oldest walk fundraiser comes to Stamford Sunday at Commons Park, 101 Washington Blvd.
6th Annual Walk for Independence: 11 a.m. Stamford-based Always Reaching for Independence will have its annual fundraiser at Cove Island Park Sunday. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with walking at 11 a.m. and a free lunch to follow.
Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic Pays Tribute to Founder: 4 p.m. In honor of Founder and Music Director Salvatore Princiotti, who is stepping down after 52 years, the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Palace Theater, 61 Atlantic St. There will be a reception in the upper lobby.
