Ulysses Solis Jr., 56, Stamford Designer

STAMFORD, Conn. – Ulysses A. Solis Jr., 56, of Stamford died Sunday, Oct. 2, at Stamford Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1955, in Dumaguete City, Philippines.

He worked as a designer for the architectural firm Tischler Und Sohn. Among his accomplishments was designing the King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia and two other hospitals. He also worked at John Brown in Stamford, Chemtech, and Ocean and Coastal Consultants in Trumbull.

Solis is survived by his wife, Miriam DelMundo Solis; two sons, James and Kristoffer; four brothers, Israel and his wife, Corazon, Jimmay and his wife, Evelyn, Yvette and his wife, Annie, and Benedict and his wife, Gemma; and a sister, Maggie Solis Kresel and her husband, Gregory.

Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford. A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 403 Scoffieldtown Road, Stamford, on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
