Sun Finally Shines for Stamford Students

With the sun shining and birds chirping the students of Rogers International School made their way to Cove Island Park for their seventh annual Turtle Trot.

The event was originally scheduled for Friday, May 20, to cap off “Turtle Trot Spirit Week,” but like many other outdoor events in Stamford recently, it had to be postponed several times due to rain. Thursday morning, however, students, teachers and faculty were able to trot to their hearts' content.

The weather Rogers enjoyed should last throughout the day Thursday, the National Weather Service says. The forecast calls for temperatures in the upper 70s for the rest of the afternoon, and the summer-like conditions should remain over the holiday weekend.

“Turtle Trot Spirit Week” took place from Monday, May 16, through May 20 and consisted of health-enhancing activities, a press release said, such as a Turtle Trot Health & Wellness Fair that included a vendors such as Allstate, Kaia Yoga and Pump It Up.
