Stephen McGrath, 48, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died on Friday, April 15.
The Stamford High School graduate earned his degree in landscape architecture and design from the Springfield Technical College. He worked as a landscape contractor and for the Stamford Parks and Recreation.
In his free time, McGrath was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends.
McGrath is survived by his mother, Jean Richter McGrath; three brothers, Terrence McGrath and his wife, Debbie, John J. McGrath Jr. and his wife, Pamela, and Patrick McGrath, as well as aunts, uncles and other family members. He was predeceased by his father John J. McGrath Sr.
A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. in St. Bridgets of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. There will be no calling hours, and interment will be private. Arrangements were made by the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory.
Donations can be made in McGraths memory to the Salvation Army, 198 Selleck St., Stamford.
