Stamford United Way Picks A New CEO

STAMFORD, Conn. — The United Way of Western Connecticut has named Kimberly Morgan its new chief executive officer. The New Fairfield resident previously served as the Stamford-based organization's interim CEO.

“I hope in my new role that I can connect people’s aspirations with those who need hope and help during these difficult times,” she said in a press release.

“In addition to her years of experience, [Morgan] has a deep knowledge of the needs in our community. She’s a visionary leader with the strategic insight to lead this organization into the future, and above all, a true passion for the work of United Way,” Jim Schmotter, president of Western Connecticut State University and chairman of United Way's Executive Search Committee, said in the release.

For the past seven years Morgan has served in a variety of roles for the United Way of Western Connecticut, including chief operating officer, the release said. Before joining United Way she worked in residential programs for people with mental health and substance abuse problems, the release said.

Morgan holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master’s in management communications, the release said. 

The United Way of Western Connecticut serves Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, Newtown, New Milford, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Stamford, Warren and Washington.
