Stamford Stab Victim I.D.'d as Bronx Teen

STAMFORD, Conn. — The victim of Monday's fatally stabbing in Stamford has been identified as 16-year-old Romario Marchant of the Bronx, Capt. Richard Conklin said Tuesday.

Investigators I.D.'d Marchant by tracing his fingerprints, Conklin said. They also met with his family to identifty the body. In addition, police determined that the stabbing took place at Lione Park on Stamford’s West Side, Conklin said. While no suspects have been named yet, investigators are actively following a number of leads, the captain said.

“We are a lot better off today than we were yesterday,” he said.

Marchant was brought into Stamford Hospital just before 1 a.m. Monday with a stab wound to his heart, Conklin said. He had no identification and was unable to tell anyone who he was or where he was from before he died at around 2 a.m.
