Stamford Runs Low On Road Salt As Winter Begins To Wrap Up

STAMFORD, Conn. – After nearly 4 feet of snowfall in the latter part of winter, Stamford is running out of road salt, according to The Stamford Advocate.

The city has used 9,000 to 10,000 tons this winter and hopes to find a way to purchase another 3,000 tons in case of snowstorms in March and April, The Stamford Advocate reported.

The price of road salt from the city’s main provider, Morton’s, is $73.26 per ton this year, compared with $57 per ton last year, according to The Stamford Advocate.
