Stamford Named Seventh Most Expensive City In U.S.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford has been ranked as the seventh most expensive city to live in the U.S., according to a report by CBS Moneywatch.

The Council for Community Economic Research measured prices of common items in 307 urban areas across the country to create the list, the report said. The study gave Stamford a cost of living index of 146.1 for 2012, the national average is 100.

The same rankings had Stamford at sixth most expensive for 2011.
