Stamford Man Slashed in Downtown Alleyway

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 29-year-old Stamford man was slashed in the face and neck in an alleyway behind the Bellway Parking Garage by Washington Boulevard. He was rushed to Stamford Hospital to be treated for his wounds.

Despite having a major artery cut and losing a lot of blood it appears he will survive, Police Capt. Richard Conklin said.

Stamford Police have a suspect who was seen running from the area, Conklin said. The suspect, a man in his mid-to-late 20s, has a history with the victim and police are “very familiar” with both men, he said.

The victim was found in possession of the drug PCP, which was seized. He will be charged later for having the hallucinogen, Conklin said.

The police are trying to get an arrest warrant for the suspect, the captain said.
